This privacy notice explains our privacy practices as pertains to the personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. We will not disclose, share or sell your personal information except as disclosed in this privacy notice.

Collection of Personal Information

General Purposes

We collect personal information from you through our interactions with you, including through our website. Additional details about the personal information we collect are provided in the "Personal Information We Collect: Categories, Sources, Purposes and Disclosures to Others" section below.

When you visit our website, we may store a small amount of data on your computer in the form of a small text file (a "cookie") to remember your preferences and credentials for visiting our website, and to remember you across pages of our website or on multiple visits. When you request a demo, ask for further information about us, or subscribe to our services, we collect the personal information necessary to complete your request or to provide you with marketing materials that we believe you are interested in receiving. If you do not want us to collect this information, you can opt out of receiving our marketing emails using the instructions in the email.

If you seek a position with us, we may collect the personal information you provide to us as well as personal information about you from publicly available and other third-party sources necessary to consider your request.

We may also infer, collect, and receive information from third parties, including our vendors and partners, and from publicly accessible sources. Disclosures of Personal Information

We disclose personal information to our processors (including California service providers) that help us operate our business and provide the services to you and to third-parties (including California third-party businesses) when you authorize such disclosures, such as to other users of our services when you choose to share your information with them. We may also disclose your personal information when required by law or to respond to legal process.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties (as "sell" is defined under applicable privacy laws) or disclose it to third parties for purposes of profiling, targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined in applicable privacy laws).

Your Control of Your Personal Information

When we ask you to provide personal information, you can decline. However, you should know that many of our services require some personal information to fulfill your request or to provide our services.

We may send you periodic promotional or informational emails. You may opt-out of such communications by following the opt-out instructions contained in the email. Please note that it may take up to 10 business days for us to process opt-out requests. If you opt-out of receiving emails about recommendations or other information we think may interest you, we may still send you emails about your account or any services you have requested or received from us.

The privacy laws allow certain exceptions to your rights to control how we use your personal information, and we will use those exceptions when appropriate. For example, if you ask us to delete your personal information, we will not delete it if a law or judicial process requires us to retain it.

Do Not Track and Related Signals

Your browser (including plug-ins) or device may offer you a "Do Not Track" ("DNT"), "Global Privacy Control" ("GPC"), or other option to request us not to track you or your device. These methods allow you to signal to operators of websites, devices and applications that you do not wish such operators to track some of your online activities over time and across different websites and platforms, to opt-out of targeted advertising based on such methods, or to opt-out of sales of your information gathered through use of such methods. SafeGuard Privacy is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, data is kept securely with a globally recognized storage provider.

As you know, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your personal information with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us by contacting us at [email protected].

Privacy of Personal Information Related to Children

As a B2B SaaS privacy platform, our website and related services are not directed to children under 18. If you learn that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at [email protected].

SafeGuard Privacy retains personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the services you have requested and to market and provide the products offered, or for other legitimate purposes, such as complying with our legal obligations or those of our clients, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. Personal Information We Collect About Consumers

Additional Notice for US Consumers — To ensure we give consumers in US states with comprehensive privacy laws the disclosures that are required by such laws, we have provided this additional notice; however, our uses of personal information do not change depending upon where the relevant individual resides.

We describe the personal information we have collected from consumers in the twelve (12) months preceding the effective date of this Privacy Notice in the part of our Privacy Notice titled, "Collection of Personal Information" above.

This section applies if you are an EU or UK data subject (for these purposes, reference to the EU also includes the European Economic Area countries of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and, where applicable, Switzerland and the United Kingdom ("UK")). Our use of the term "personal information" in this section of the privacy notice includes the term "personal data" as defined in the GDPR.

SafeGuard Privacy is the data controller for processing personal information provided to SafeGuard Privacy in relation to our websites and services. Unless you have given us your consent for our independent uses of your personal information or we have another lawful basis for processing your personal information, we act strictly as a data processor for personal information that we process through our services, as described under the "Collection of Personal Information" section above. We rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal information:

Processing of your personal information based on your consent for such processing.
Processing of your personal information that you provide to us (such as your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, company name and role) when you request a demo of the Safeguard Privacy platform or when you otherwise send inquiries about our services.
When you apply for employment, including through our website, processing of your contact details and data about your employment history and education (as needed to evaluate your job application, to conduct job interviews, and as is otherwise needed for recruitment) is necessary to respond to your request to process your application for employment. If you do not provide this data, we will not be able to process the application that you submit.
We use account-related data to set up accounts for users in the services and to administer and support those accounts (such as usernames, email address and billing information), provide you with access to the services, contact you regarding your use of the services or to notify you of important changes to the services. Such use is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and SafeGuard Privacy.
We may send you information by email or through other electronic communications about our new products or services or other promotions if you consent to receiving them. If you have not opted in to these marketing emails, we do this either because we are relying on an exception to opt-in requirements or because of our legitimate interest to promote the success of our business.
Our use of data relating to your use of our websites and/or the services described above is necessary for our legitimate interests in understanding how the sites and the services are being used by you, to improve your experience on it and our service offerings, and to maintain security and prevent fraud.
We also have a legitimate interest in aggregating and/or anonymizing or de-identifying the information that we collect through our services and using this information for our business purposes.
When we process your personal information for our legitimate interests, we make sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you, and your rights under data protection laws. Our legitimate business interests do not automatically override your interests — we will not use your personal information for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you, unless we have your consent for our processing activities or those activities are otherwise required or permitted by law. International Data Transfers

The personal information we process may be transferred to, and processed in, any country in which we or our service providers or partners operate, which may include countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different than the laws of your country. When we transfer personal information of an EU or UK resident to another country that is not subject to an adequacy decision from the European Commission or the Information Commissioner's Office of the UK, we will either obtain your consent for the transfer or, at your request, enter into the applicable Standard Contractual Clauses.

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We have assessed the nature of the personal information we process, and we will take reasonable measures consistent with laws to ensure only lawful processing of your personal information occurs.
